Videos of My Kids

The other day Matt was playing with Kakes and she made this funny noise. We both stopped and asked if that was her laughing. She had never made the noise before. It was adorable. So, we recorded it on Matt's phone. Enjoy! It's the cutest ever!

This video is Tyler laughing and going over some of his regular words and phrases, we love them! Sorry if his version of fork and flag offends anyone!

Date Night

A really good friend of ours, Kirk, had a birthday yesterday so tonight we went out with them. We got a babysitter and went mini golfing. It was a lot of fun! It's been years since I have been mini golfing. Honestly, I was a little surprise that I had fun doing it. It was nice to get out and actually do an activity with Matt and no kids. Usually our date night are just quick dinners or something. I loved it. Anyway, so here are some picts of us and Kirk and Kristine. Happy birthday Kirk!

Cute kids!

It's been a long time since I have posted. Mainly because I feel like we haven't been doing anything worth posting about. Matt's schedule is so busy, and we're trying to not use so much gas so I am frequently carless. But here I am finally.

So, we've been great, busy, but great! Things are going good, and surprisingly I enjoy being home and not feeling like I am constantly running. It makes for quite peaceful days. Here are some cute pictures of my adorable kids. This one is Katie sporting her Einstein look.
Katie is a sweetheart. She's starting to smile and she laughed for the first time this last week. She's such a happy baby. Tyler is my little bud and always a cute boy. I have been blessed with two happy, peaceful children. This is Katie's first ponytail. That's right my two month old can already do a ponytail!

We just got Tyler's halloween costume. It took him a bit before he would even try it on, but now he loves it (more picts of that to come after halloween).

These pictures were taken today. I think Katie is looking more and more like Tyler.

A Little Life Help

Today I decided to start a new blog. You are all welcome to check it if you would like, there is a link on the side. It's not a family blog like this one. My new blog is too help motivate myself and others in overcoming life's challenges. It's titled I Can Do Anything.

Why you might ask? I have lived my life with ups and downs. Each day I wake up and start again. Each day I know I will be facing my trials, obstacles, and weaknesses. Each day I start and hope to overcome them all. I talked to my sister today and we tried to motivate each other, help each other with our own struggles. I tried to give her ideas to make it through the day. Together we set goals, we became each others support groups. Later I had a friend ask for the same support. I realized that I am motivated when others are with me, and I know there are more people out there wanting the same companionship. This blog is my little touch on other lives. It's my way to reach out to everyone who needs someone. Everyone who wants a little help in life, a little pick-me-up. In whatever area that one struggles in, I hope that my blog can lift them up that much more and help them make it through the day.

It's still new and doesn't have a lot of postings, quotes, etc. But it will. Again, feel free to check it whenever you want, feel free to pass it on to those who might benefit from it. Love you all!

Parenting 101

I found a new site today I wanted to share with anyone who ever asks themselves how to be a parent. Most of you know I love the Babywise book. This morning I got online trying to figure out how to get Katie to sleep through the night. I came across this blog. She did babywise but her site talks about other books, ideas, etc. The blog gives pointers, opinions, questions and answers for any topic you can think of involving raising children of all ages. I like the site and will refer back to it again I'm sure. So I thought I would send it to all my other mom friends that might be wondering how to do it. It is babywisemom.blogspot.com. I highly suggest checking it out if you want to see how others make it.

Thank You

I want to thank everyone who was able to make it to Katie's blessing earlier today. Some of you came from so far, some from close, some weren't able to make it but I know wanted to. Thank you all for you love and support for me and my family. It was a beautiful blessing and a wonderful day in my life. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful life, an amazing husband, and two adorable children. The Lord has blessed us so much, and I am so grateful for it. It was wonderful to see my husband holding our daughter and giving her a blessing. And to be able to have other family members that also have the priesthood participate in that. The gospel is an amazing thing. I know that no matter what the Lord has in store for me in this life I will be with my family in the next. That is the most amazing, comforting feeling. Thank you all for helping Matt and I get where we are today, for being there for us, and for showing your love to us. We love you all! (I'll post picts as soon as my sis e-mails them to me.)

Our Week

Matt started school, which was really hard to readjust to the long days, but it should be ok. It's going to be a busy semester but at least it will be over in December, then the spring will only have two class with graduation in April. YEAH!!! We had a lot of fun activities this week. We went to Thanksgiving Point as a family Tuesday night. That's was fun and Tyler loved the waterfalls.

On Friday I took the kids to BYU. We got some new clothes for the football season, visited Jana in her new apartment, and stopped by the waterfall and pond to see the ducks. It was great. Obviously the ducks get fed a lot because they aren't scared of anything.

Saturday was Swiss Days up in Midway. We hit the parade in the morning (which was good because we missed all the parades this summer). It was a lot of fun! We hit the booths after. Those are always fun to look at and what not. It was a fun morning!

Last night was BYU's first game of the season. I go the kids dressed up in their gear and we went to my parents house. They looked so adorable! Matt watched the game with my dad and Tyler played in the backyard the entire time. Next week I'll try to get a picture with Matt in his jersey at Chelsie's Kickoff Party. All in all we had a great week!

A tribute to Matt

Most of you know how amazing my husband is, but I want to make sure everyone knows. Everyday I get up I am reminded at how lucky I have the man that I married. He is always happy, a hard worker, makes me laugh, cute as ever, a great father, a great friend, a regular hottie! Everyday Matt gets up and takes care of Tyler. (Usually letting me sleep in since Katie isn't sleeping through the night yet.) Every free moment he has he makes sure he is spending time with me and the kids. So much is asked of him and he never complains. Matt is always the last one to complain about anything. He truly has made me a better person and keeps me wanting to improve. I love him so much! He is Tyler's best friend, that kid can't get enough of his dad. He is just so great with children (my family has to remind him that he's one of the adults when we all get together or he'll spend the entire time outside with the kids).

He works so hard in school and pulls off good grades. He works really hard at work, even if it's until 11:00 at night. But, even with school and work taking all of his time, he will still find time to swing by the house and be with us for dinner, and sometimes surprise us for a minute during the day. I know I can be...high maintenance, but Matt is always understanding and loving. No matter how crazy I get. He just tries to make me happy all the time. I can't explain in words how I feel about my husband and the father of my children. I love him so much and am so lucky to have him in my life.

Saturday

It seems like it's been a while but we finally got out as a family and did some fun stuff. Yesterday we went on a hike up the PG Canyon to a waterfall. It was so nice to hike again. It's been a long time for us and Matt and I both love it. Turns out Tyler loves hiking too. He did the entire hike himself. About every five feet he had to stop and pick up rocks to throw in the water. It ended up taking a long time, but we had all day so we enjoyed it. Tyler loves being outside and loves to play in the dirt. Katie slept the entire time, but I know she loved it too. Here are some pictures from our little outing.

A's

I know it's been a while since I've blogged. Not a lot has been happening to us. Matt has a two and a half week break from school right now. It's been so nice to have him home in the evening. It's almost like we're like a regular family. I love it! He got his grades this week. For those that don't know, Matt took 3 classes the first block and one class the second block. He got great grades. The most impressive one was the A he pulled off in his statistics class. Who gets an A in statistics, let alone a semester jammed into six weeks. He's amazing (my own genius)! I'm so proud at how hard he works. I got so lucky!

Tyler and Katie are cuter then ever. Tyler is such a sweet big brother. He loves it when Katie is awake. He's so cute with her. Katie is a great baby. I think she's going to be a lot like Tyler. She's really quiet and always studying everything around her. I love my little family! I'll post more when things happen! Tyler loves laying with Katie and playing with her. She loves it too!
Julie put Katie's hair in pigtails. They are so adorable. Not very many newborns can do that!
